FAQ’s

What makes Trade Plan Consulting’s strategy better than other trading strategies?

This strategy doesn’t require a huge time input once you gain the trading knowledge.

It’s simple. Trading with a plan ensures you’re not holding any dumpster fires going into the weekend.

This type of trading is learnable in a short period of time.

We put a HUGE emphasis on investing time to pre-define a plan and risk strategy BEFORE placing any trades.

Trading confidence comes from tracking just 4 trade metrics:

ROI, Win Percentage, Reward to Risk Ratio, and Hold Time

You must know your numbers in this profession.

We only consider 3 factors when we measure ROI:

  1. Position Sizing
  2. Position Management
  3. Position Selection Strategy

It’s as simple as it gets in terms of trade strategy. There is no need for understanding options to do this. If you can’t buy and sell things for a profit, there’s no sense in dabbling in options.

The strategy is simple enough that anyone who can do third grade math can do this. You don’t need to be tech savvy either, the systems are very user-friendly.

What indicators do you use?

We’re mainly focused on price action, volume, news and statistics.

You don’t need to know what Level 2 or a VWAP is, this is not day trading.

Do I need any financial background to trade?

No, but you should educate yourself on market risks.

  • One in three traders loses 90% or more in their career
  • More than 98 out of 100 day traders lose money
  • Only 6% of people continue trading for over 10 years

You should not trade until you’re confident you understand the risks and have a solid approach.

Is trading stressful?

It can be very stressful without the right knowledge, tools and systems in place. According to Business Insider, Stock Trader is the second most stressful job on Wall St. only behind Investment Banking.

Can you successfully swing trade for millions in profits?

Yes, but don’t expect it for years (unless you’re really hungry for it!).

It’s important to understand, if you’re just starting out, you need the knowledge and high level concepts first, then build out your plan and systems. Teaming up with smart people who are actively doing it very well is the fastest way to accelerate things.

Day trading can be an extremely lucrative skill, however, most people don’t have time to do it because they are employed full-time.

We DO NOT teach day trading here mainly because it seems too intense.

Just placing one trade week can be intimidating to beginners trying to understand how people actually do this successfully. We believe there is an easier and less-stressful way than day trading to get the same desired end result. It’s called SWING trading!

The traditional ‘buy and hold’ strategy is hit or miss and only if you stretch it out years. Individual stock prices almost always go lower the first year you’re in them because most stocks lose value year over year.

What is SWING trading?

Swing trading is when you buy and hold positions for days, weeks or months until a certain criteria is met from the exit strategy laid out in your trade plan.

How long does it take to learn to trade?

Everyone is different, however there are certain things (like courses) that can greatly increase knowledge in a particular area.

Trade Plan Consulting’s  believes anyone can grasp these concepts in 30 days. Then, it comes down to actually investing time to set up the systems and automate as much as possible.

How much money do I need to start?

We’ve had people start with as little as $100, with the idea of adding small amounts consistently when they get paid in the future. It’s important to understand trading is an art and a science and the only.

It may take 15 years or more to get to get to a comfortable retirement amount depending on your yearly returns, so it’s critical you start sooner rather than later if you’re considering it.

Can you trade my account for me?

No. We are not licensed Financial Advisors and therefore legally cannot.

Can I swing trade with a full-time job?

Most likely yes. Most of our customers are employed full-time. Our alert service sends alerts out Friday right before the market close (3:30 EST). It’s just one trade a week, so roughly 104 texts throughout the year if you include the sell alerts.

Can I expect the same or similar results by following the alert strategy?

There are many variables to trading and execution errors are likely for beginners. That being said, if you are an experienced trader, you should be able to take these concepts and greatly improve your confidence and overall returns.

If you’re a beginner, don’t expect to just pick up any alert strategy and execute flawlessly without first grasping the concepts and ideas.

It’s best to surround yourself with a group or team of people currently doing this very well and ask a lot of questions where you need your knowledge gaps filled in.

If you really want to accelerate your understanding, we have multiple courses in this space. If this is something you’re interested in, you can schedule a call with a member of our team here:
